title : Chasing Rain
At the bottom, what you may merely find to be a pinprick when you peer over the edge from above. The same pinprick of light as I gaze up from this wormhole. Walls surrounding, an armslength away on all sides yet bitter cold to take the life of blood upon contact. Large spires, lit black by the ever-absence of light, hang precariously inverted on the edge of ice shafts, wingless gargoyles on the brink of a deathless suicide. The wool has been worn thin on my parka, as if each sick, interlocking coitus with the tongue of cold air probes menacingly towards the warmth within. Branchlike fingers of frost scratch torn layers away, raking its icy tips into skin, breathing sheer agony where raw skin flakes undivided. Crippled in an ice tomb of insecurities, I wonder yet again what is strumming my heartstrings. |
